Invisalign consists of a series of clear removable aligners which eliminate the need for fixed braces.  The aligners are changed every 1 to 2 weeks moving your teeth into a slightly different position each time.  Not only does Invisalign look near invisible, but Invisalign aligners can be taken out when you’re eating or brushing which has many health benefits. Gum infection, gum growth (gingival hyperplasia), decalcification (white spots) and decay are all potential complications of braces treatment. By being able to remove the Invisalign aligners you can brush and floss normally.

Careful planning and preparation is needed to ensure Invisalign is appropriate to reach your treatment goals.  Each set of aligners is custom-made to fit your teeth using the latest 3D technology.  A special digital scan of your teeth is completed first (iTero Scanner).  Then aligners are computer designed and manufactured in sequence to gradually move teeth into alignment.  The technique is available for both adults and teenage patients and your Orthodontist will let you know if you’re suitable to have it.  Invisalign treatment is tailored to your teeth so the aligners will fit comfortably in your mouth. This means they don’t cause any irritation or sores which can sometimes be a problem of more traditional braces.  Of course, a successful outcome is reliant on excellent patient compliance to wear the aligners.
